Forever Young BBL® is a specific BroadBand Light protocol performed on the BBL® HEROic™ platform, designed for the face, neck, chest and hands.
In a single session it addresses several things at once: brown sun spots and age spots, freckling, diffuse redness, small visible vessels and the general dullness that comes with accumulated sun exposure. Light energy is absorbed by the pigment or the vessel, the target breaks down, and your body clears it over the following days.
What separates Forever Young BBL® from a one-time correction is the schedule behind it. For best results, we recommend treating on a regular, ongoing cadence rather than as a single visit — patients who stay consistent tend to hold their results and keep new damage from accumulating, rather than starting over from scratch each time.

What to Expect During Forever Young BBL®
Forever Young BBL® is performed at our Melville office by one of our physician assistants.
After cleansing and protective eyewear, a layer of cool gel is applied and your provider moves the handpiece across the treatment area in overlapping passes. Each pulse registers as a brief flash of warmth. No numbing cream and no anesthetic are typically needed.
Treatment time depends entirely on the area. The light delivery itself can take as little as two to ten minutes; a full-face session including prep and post-care generally runs about 30 minutes, and most patients are in and out of the office within the hour.
When the session ends your skin will feel warm — think mild sunburn — and that sensation usually eases within 30 to 60 minutes. We apply sunscreen before you leave.
What Is Recovery Like After Forever Young BBL®?
There is no required downtime. Patients routinely return to work, errands or the gym the same day, and makeup can be applied immediately.
Expect the treated spots to get darker before they get better. Within the first day or two, sun spots and freckles deepen in color and take on a slightly speckled, coffee-ground look. Over the next three to seven days they flake off naturally as you wash your face. Do not pick or scrub — let them release on their own.
Any redness or mild swelling usually settles within several hours to a day.
Full results typically develop over roughly two to three weeks. From there, sunscreen every morning is what protects your investment. We will also talk through a maintenance cadence, which for most patients means returning once or twice a year.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Forever Young BBL®?
Forever Young BBL® is a good fit if your main complaint is color rather than texture — brown spots on the cheeks and forehead, freckling across the nose, persistent flushing, visible capillaries around the nostrils, or a complexion that simply looks tired.
It is equally well suited to patients in their 30s and 40s who have relatively good skin and want to keep it that way. This is the treatment we point to when someone asks what a long-term plan looks like.
Timing matters. Because the light targets pigment, we ask you to come in at your natural skin tone — no deliberate sun, tanning beds or self-tanner for two to three weeks beforehand. Deeper skin tones can often be treated with adjusted settings after evaluation. Let us know about active cold sores, recent isotretinoin, photosensitizing medications, or pregnancy.
If melasma is your primary concern, MOXI® is usually the better starting point, since heat can aggravate hormonal pigmentation.

How many Forever Young BBL® treatments do I need?
For meaningful correction of sun damage or redness, we generally plan a series of about three sessions spaced roughly four weeks apart. After that, most patients maintain with one or two sessions a year. Sciton® reports visible results in one to three treatments.
Does Forever Young BBL® actually slow skin aging?
For best results, we recommend treating on a regular, ongoing basis rather than as a single visit. Consistent treatment helps you stay ahead of new sun damage and hold on to your results, rather than starting over each time you notice new spots or redness. Your provider can recommend a maintenance schedule suited to your skin at your consultation.
Does it hurt?
Most patients describe warmth and a light tingling. The chilled sapphire tip cools the skin continuously, and no anesthetic is typically required.
Can I have it done in the summer?
It is possible, but you need to arrive at your natural skin tone and commit to sun protection afterward. If you are actively tan, we will either postpone or suggest MOXI® instead.
What is the difference between Forever Young BBL® and Forever Body BBL®?
The technology is the same; the target area is not. Forever Young BBL® is our facial protocol. Forever Body BBL® is built for large areas below the jawline — chest, arms, back and legs. Many patients do both, often in the same visit.
Will it help with acne or unwanted hair?
Forever Young BBL® isn't the right tool for either. For active acne, our Forever Clear BBL® protocol uses a different light combination built specifically for breakouts and acne-related redness. We don't currently offer a dedicated hair-reduction protocol — ask us at your consultation and we'll point you in the right direction.
