Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

North Shore Cosmetic Surgery is committed to making our website usable and welcoming for every visitor, regardless of ability. We believe that access to clear information about our practice, our doctors, and our services should never depend on how a person browses the web. This page describes the work we have done so far, the standards that guide us, and how to reach us if something on our site is not working the way it should.

The Standard We Follow

Our development team works to align this site with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), aiming for Level AA, the widely recognized benchmark for web accessibility. These guidelines cover areas such as color contrast, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, resizable text, and clear page structure.

What We Are Working On

As part of our recent website redesign, our team has been reviewing the site with accessibility in mind. Our ongoing work covers areas such as:

  • Clear, consistent navigation and page headings so visitors and screen readers can find information
  • Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images, including before and after photos and doctor portraits
  • Color combinations reviewed for contrast between text and background
  • Forms, buttons, and links intended to work with a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse
  • Video content paired with captions or a text equivalent where available
  • A responsive layout intended to adapt to phones, tablets, and desktop screens, as well as to browser zoom and text resizing

An Ongoing Process, Not a One Time Fix

Accessibility is not something we consider finished. From time to time we will be making changes to parts of our website, and in some cases those changes will affect accessibility as well. Improving the ease and comfort with which every visitor can use our site is an ongoing goal, and how close we get to it depends on the resources we have available, the state of current technology, and what we learn from the people who use our website. Despite the effort we put into accessibility, some content, features, or processes may still fall short in a way we have not caught. We welcome your feedback and will use it to keep improving.

Third Party Applications

Our website may use third party add ons or plug ins for certain functions, such as maps, scheduling widgets, or social media feeds. These tools are built and maintained outside of our organization, and we do not control their underlying code or structure. As a result, they may not work the same way for every visitor or every type of disability. We choose reputable partners, and where we are able to raise a concern on a visitor's behalf, we will.

Third Party Websites

Our website may include links to third party websites. Some of these sites publish their own accessibility statements, and for your convenience, a few of those are listed below. We have not reviewed these statements ourselves and do not offer any opinion on their accuracy.

Video

Our website includes video content. Where available, videos are paired with captions or a text equivalent so the information they contain is not limited to sound alone.
