Case Details

When this attractive college student came to see us for a rhinoplasty  at our office in Melville, Long Island , she told us she wanted her nose less wide.  She was not looking for a dramatic “nose job” but for a refinement of her nasal shape. Her facial features were striking, and yet her nose was a little wider than ideal for her face, and had a slight bump on profile.  We used computer imaging at our Melville plastic surgery office to morph her digital image into a possible result.  This helps as a communication tool between surgeon and patient, and is invaluable in our experience. We agreed to a subtle refinement of her nose, removing the slight bump seen on profile view, and narrowing the tip and body of the nose.  With those photographs in tour office based Operating Room we performed her rhinoplasty in about an hour’s time, with our patient fully asleep, of course, under a light general anesthetic. As with most patients having a nose job, she needed some pain killers the first few days.  Most patients expect to have a lot of pain, and almost all are surprised that they really only have “discomfort.” The after photos reveal that this Suffolk County resident looks just like herself:  attractive, with great facial features.  Only now she is as happy with her nose as with the rest of her face.
