Case Details

This mom, in her early 30’s came to see Dr. Romanelli because she was looking for a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty).  Examining this patient, it was apparent that her skin and abdominal area were stretched by her pregnancies, and that she needed an extended tummy tuck, rather than liposuction.  Exercise, including sit ups, may tighten the abdominal muscles, but it won’t tighten skin or flatten an abdominal wall that has been stretched too much. Her surgery was performed in our ambulatory surgical suite. The surgery took about 3 hours, and she spent the night in our overnight stay facility at our Melville Long Island office, with a private duty nurse.  She was able to return home the next day, to continue recovery. Her post-operative photographs show the length of the incision, with a fantastic contour.  She has become active with exercise including cardio & some light weight training.  Our happiest abdominoplasty patients are those who use the opportunity of a better shape to exercise and tone.
