Case Details

This college student came to our Long Island office because he felt his chin was too weak. We carefully evaluated his facial features and agreed that his chin could be stronger. When a chin is weak it can make the nose look too large. Dr. Romanelli and our patient decided together to use a small access incision beneath the chin (the other choice is an incision inside the lower lip), and that incision was only about 3/4 of an inch long, in a natural crease. We used a sedative anesthetic, which kept him in a comfortable “twilight,” without the need for general anesthesia. The surgery was performed at our private, certified operating facility. We used an anatomically shaped solid silicone implant, size 43. He recovered quickly, and his post-operative photographs show him just 2 weeks after surgery. He now has great symmetry and balance between his nose and chin.
