Long Island College Student Has Nose Job During Spring Break With Dr. Romanelli

This college student came to see Dr. Romanelli in our office in Melville, Long Island for a “nose job” or rhinoplasty.  She was unhappy with the wideness of her nose, as well as the bump.  She didn’t lack self-confidence, just wanted to change her nose. As with most patients considering rhinoplasty on Long Island, we used computer imaging to “preview” what her nose would ideally look like after surgery.   The digital images we took were immediately put up on the computer, and we “drew” the new nose.  It is so helpful to illustrate for patients considering a nose job what our goal is for them.  With feedback we can refine our surgical plan.  She had her rhinoplasty at our accredited plastic surgery center on Long Island during a school break.  The surgery took about an hour and she went home with a splint the same day.  5 days later we took the splint off: her nose was more narrow, and the bump was gone.  Although swelling lasts weeks, and a little bit of swelling last months, she was presentable almost right away. The post operative photographs speak for themselves:  a natural looking nose, complimenting her natural beauty.
