Woman Has Atummy Tuck at North Shore Cosmetic Surgery In Melville, NY

This mother of three in her mid 30’s, was referred to Dr. Romanelli by her obstetrician for help with her abdomen. She wanted a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) to help with all of her excess skin which resulted from gaining about 50 pounds with each pregnancy. On examination, this patient showed lots of extra hanging skin, as well as weakness of the abdominal wall from the weight gain. She needed a full tummy tuck to remove all of the extra skin.  Her surgery was performed in our ambulatory surgical suite in two and a half hours (with a private nurse by her side). She was able to return home to continue to recover, the same day.  She had a quick recovery and returned to her lifestyle activities. 8 months after surgery she can wear clothes comfortably, not having to “hide” the extra skin she was carrying. We were both suprised to look at her pre-operative photos because we had both forgotten how much excess skin she had been carrying. When a patient’s new form is in proportion to their overall figure, their improved form becomes the new “normal.”
