Your Restylane experience

Restylane treatments are performed in one of our private procedure rooms at North Shore Cosmetic Surgery. While many Restylane treatments already contain lidocaine (a local anesthetic), a numbing cream may be applied to the treatment areas for greater comfort.

The procedure involves several targeted injections of the selected Restylane products with a fine needle. We will then carefully massage your face to ensure the filler enters the target areas. Once complete, we will place a cold compress on your face to help control any initial inflammation.

Each Restylane product is applied with a similar approach, but in different areas according to your unique physiology, concerns, and aesthetic goals.

Recovery and results after Restylane

Once your Restylane injections are complete, you may immediately resume your daily routine with results appearing right away. The treated areas may be slightly swollen and bruised, but this usually fades after a few hours. The visible bruising may last up to a few days, but it can be easily camouflaged with cosmetics.

We suggest that you avoid exercise for 24 hours after treatment, and ask that you sleep with your head propped up for the first night. As your skin continues to heal over the following week or two, your results will continue to improve. Restylane injections often last up to 12 months, based on the formula selected and your body’s reaction to the product.
